Step By Step Set Up Guide
To set up your battery quartz cuckoo clock, follow the simple steps below. It is important to keep all packaging and the original box, just in case your clock malfunctions and has to be sent back to the retailer or supplier, or for future transport of the clock.
Remove the cuckoo clock from the box and check that the hands are set between 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock. If the hands are not set between 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock, move the minute hand around the dial until the hands reach this position.
Carefully place the clock face down on a bench. If you find the clock rests on the hands when it is face down, try to support the clock in a way to avoid the hands from resting on a hard surface. Your clock may also have moving parts, figurines or other delicate features, so ensure these do not break or snap off when resting your clock face down.
Untie and remove the packaging around the cuckoo clock chains at the base of the clock.
Locate the weights and the pendulum within the box and remove them from any packaging, placing the weights and pendulum on the bench next to the clock.
Remove the back door of the clock. You may have to turn small latch to allow the door to release. Sometimes the doors are a tight fit, and may require levering out slightly with a small screwdriver, if performing this, ensure the latch has been completely moved out of the way.
Insert brand new batteries into the battery compartments and give each battery a slight spin to ensure good contact is made on the terminals.
Replace the back door on the clock.
Hang the cuckoo clock on your wall. It is best to use a screw into a stud to hang any clock on a wall. The screw should be at a slight angle upwards so the clock doesn't slip off the wall.
Hang the pendulum onto the pendulum arm, and the weights onto the chain hooks.
Ensure the clock is switched on by checking the switch located on one of the sides of your clock. There is also a volume potentiometer to adjust the volume of your clock's sound.
Set the time to the correct time by moving the minute hand around the dial clockwise. Each time you pass 12 o'clock with the minute hand, allow the clock to call completely and stop making any sound before proceeding past the next hour.
